Városmajor Development Study

As part of the Buda Green Corridor, a transport study design documentation was prepared to assess the transport conditions of Városmajor and its surroundings, and to provide a basis for proposals aimed at improving and making the area’s traffic connections more people-centred.

Government Resolution No. 1690/2019 (XII. 10.) set the objective of renewing Budapest’s interconnected green areas, which play an important role in the city’s everyday life. As a first step towards this objective, the planning task focused on preparing and conceptually underpinning the revitalisation of Városmajor. Based on the survey, documentation and analysis of the existing conditions, a set of recommendations was prepared for green space and transport-related issues, with particular emphasis on the reorganisation and development of pedestrian, cycling, road and parking connections.

The completed documentation served as the basis for the subsequent design competition.
